I’m winding down the Oscar watch. I’m hoping to get 90% of feature films watched before the actual event, but there’s a couple that the availability are unclear so I won’t know for sure. The ones I’ve been watching have all be super depressing dramas about living under dictators or regimes and, while I think my mental health is dropping fast because of it all.

I admittedly don’t know a lot of the history around the Irish struggle against Britain in the mid-20th century, but had heard the buzz around this show for a bit. I was blown away by everything here. The acting is powerful, the story compelling and well told. I learned a lot about this time in history and had a great time doing it.
