I have friends everywhere
“I was forced to acknowledge too late, much too late, that I too had loved, that I was capable of suffering, and that I was human after all.”
― Jacqueline Harpman, I Who Have Never Known Men
I always struggle with this mentality of loving so many things which leaves me not knowing how to commit to specific activities. It’s hard at the end of 12 months to look back and see 5% on 30 different avenues instead of even 75%+ in a single project. This isn’t just a me problem, googling around you can see dozens of other people writing the same thing I’m writing here. And they all have nice 7 step guides outlining ways to be kinder to yourself or focus more or set better goals for yourself. All those are helpful things, so I won’t repeat them all here. For me personally, it’s a combination of choosing the fruitful activity over the (usually much easier) fruitless activity. Even after basically cutting all social media out of my life, I still spend a lot of time scrolling reddit when I get bored instead of focusing on the next step in one of the 5 projects I might be midway on. I’ll never finish the hike if I just sit on a rock drinking water. I have to take the next step.
Pick your project and take a step forward.

Arkham Origins WB Entertainment 2013
Arkham Asylum and City are some of my favorite games of all time. Origins is the third game in this series, and with a 2013 release date this is not really new information here. I found this game mostly enjoyable, but didn’t hit the highs of either City or Asylum. Its been a bit since I’ve played Arkham City, but this game has a lot of the same DNA. While not really adding anything more to the game concepts from City this game does still have a great quality of play to it. Even though its over a decade old, it still feels like a real solid cinematic experience. There’s a few minor nits and bugs here and there, but I keep being surprised and impressed how much fun this game is.
Thanks for reading!
